Current Projects underway

Guatemalen Christian School Project - Continuing project for the 2005-2006 Kiwanis year.

Club members will be collecting various items needed by the school and bringing them to regular meetings. At regular intervals, the collected items will be boxed up and shipped to the school for the use of the students and the teaching staff. The club is also underwriting a full scholarship for one student

Swimmng Project for challenged adults and Youth, Thursdays, 10/6/05- May 2006

Open swim and swimming instruction for physically, mentally, and emotionally handicapped youth and adults, and their families, at Monroe Middle School. Thursdays when school is in session.

Annual Peanut Sale, Oct. 7 & 8, and Oct. 14 & 15, 2005

This is our annual peanut sale fund raiser. Richard Greer is chair.

Crop Walk, Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, 1 - 5 PM

We will be marking the route, manning major crossings, helping with registration and at the finish.

Halloween Dance at ISD - Oct. 28, 2005, 7 - 9 PM

We are providing refreshments and prizes, as well as man-power, for the ISD's Halloween Dance. Bill Salow is chairing this event.

Xmas Poinsettia Sale, November 1 - 20, 2005

Once again we will be selling poinsettias for our Christmas fund raiser. Orders will be due by Sunday, November 20. (You may e-mail your order totals to me.) I am challenging each and every one of you to sell at least 15 plants.

Meal of Needs, Thursday, November 17, 2005

Our club will be putting on one of its bi-monthly meals for the needy Thursday evening at the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe. Workers need to be at the church by 5 PM for setup, or by 6 PM for serving and clean-up.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Friday, Nov. 25, 9 Am - 3 PM

Club members will be ringing the bell for Salvation Army on two different dates.

Poinsettia delivery, Tuesday, December 6, 2005, 9 A.M.

Poinsettias will be delivered this morning to each member. Members will deliver their plants to their buyers. All members who are free in the morning are needed to help with delivery.

Christmas Party 2005, Tuesday, Dec. 13 at the Lux's

This is for members and signifcant others.

Valentines Day Dance at ISD, Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, 7 - 9 PM

We are providing refreshments, as well as man-power, for the ISD's Valentines Day Dance. Marilyn Sanderlin is chairing this event.

Monroe County Special Olympics, May 19, 2006

Once again our club will be chairing, and providing workers for the Monroe County Special Olympics. As in the past, we will be working with the Kiwanis Noon Club.

American Red Cross Blood Drive, Redeemer Baptist Church, June TBA

Our club will be coordinating, along with Dick Carveth, the blood drive at Monroe Redeemer Baptist Church. Details will be posted later.

Members will be preparing and serving a meal to the special campers at Holiday camp. Actual date will be posted as soon as it is set.
